About Us

Christ Community values its traditional Christian faith, but we are not bound by a single denominational tradition.

We are chartered by the International Council of Community Churches, an international, interracial fellowship of churches.

Beliefs

Above all, our faith is centered in Jesus Christ. Every need of ours finds its answer in Jesus Christ.

The final authority in our faith is the living Word of God, spoken to everyone through the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit takes the Word of God and makes it real and actual in our lives.

More complete statements of what we believe can be found in the Apostles' CreedNicene Creed and Athanasian Creed

Mission & Values

To present Christ with such a spritual and intellectual depth that people of all ages in the greater Grand Rapids area will be drawn into a caring and joyous community of worship, learning and serving.

We aspire to be a Community who:

Value our traditional Christian faith, but are not bound by a single denominational tradition.

Are enthusiastic about being a part of a loving, forgiving, and supportive community.

Are committed to share ministry in which the pastors are dedicated to leading and equipping God's people for meaningful ministry in contrast to staffing committees and maintaining an institution.

Live in hope knowing that God is in charge, and we are the people of God.

Are excited that God would use us to be a blessing to the world.

Believe that we are not only ministered to but called to use our gifts and resources to minister to others, dedicating 10% of our offerings to outreach every month.
